The new Community Park of Irmo is now open to the public.
While the official ribbon cutting for the 14-acre park on Eastview Road will not take place until May 3 of next year, town officials say the park is available to the public during daylight hours with playground equipment and walking paths in place.
Construction will be on-going during the next few months and there is still a lot of landscaping that needs to be done, according to Town Administrator Bob Brown. But he said the town plans to make the park available to the community as the work continues.
